When I think of Christmas, I think of the wonderful times of my childhood years as I anxiously awaited the arrival of Santa Claus. The excitement of Christmas was truly hard to contain. Indeed, it was a magical time of the year. As I have grown older, I have come to appreciate Christmas from a slightly different perspective. Granted, I love seeing the bright looks on my grandchildren's faces as they go over their Christmas Wish List. To me personally, Christmas represents a time of celebrating the renewal my Christian faith. As a culture, we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that has become so much a part of the holiday season that we fail to remember that the very first Christmas was actually a very humbling moment as Jesus Christ, the son of God, was born in a quiet stable and placed in a manger.
As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember these words of comfort and joy. "This is Christmas: not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving, not even the carols, but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ."
From all of us at Claxton Bakery, Inc, we wish for you and yours a blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year filled with opportunities for goodness.
