  • Regular or Dark Recipe?
    Our “Regular” fruit cake recipe, a traditional favorite, is more popular than our “Dark” variety; however, the “Dark” cakes contain the same high fruit-and-nut content. The difference lies in the molasses, spices and natural, sun-dried raisins which give the “Dark” cakes their distinctive, darker color. Our “Regular” fruit cakes feature golden raisins and imitation rum flavoring. The “Regular” recipe outsells the “Dark” by approximately eight-to-one, but both offer fruit cake “at its Claxton best!” For initial orders, we recommend the “Regular” recipe.

My granddaughter picked up a small Claxton Fruit Cake at Walmart here in North Bergen, NJ.
We were shocked by the delicious taste and quality! No matter what we did, we couldn't find another one or remember the name of the brand it was, but we remembered the horse drawn coach on the label, which led to finally finding the product online! This is amazing fruitcake!

When you hear people say fruit cake is nasty they're right! But when they try Claxton, they can't get enough. I love this cake. It is the absolute best. My grandfather used to get these and us kids would go nuts over them. Then he passed away and I hadn't had another any Claxton Fruit Cake for 25 years. Then I met my wife and our first Christmas, her mother put out one of these fruit cakes! I was so happy. I asked her where she got it at, and she told me the store. On the way home I got 5 of the cakes and make regular trips to stay stocked up. I will be ordering online now it's a lot easier for me to get it. Enjoy!!

Fruit cake generally gets a bad rap and a chuckle from some. Then they try Claxton! What a phenomenal product, best dessert cake ever. Moist, fresh and bursting with texture and flavor. I think it’s the best after dinner (or before) dessert. I enjoy it with a cup of coffee. So happy I discovered this fruit cake. Truly one of life’s simple pleasures.
